Synthesis, Spectral and Bio-Activities of Some Lanthanide (III) Iodides Chelates of 4 [N-(M-Methoxy-Benzalidene) Amino] Antipyrine

Some lanthanide (III) iodides chelates of 4[N-(m-methoxybenzalidene) amino] antipyrine (MBA AP) of the composition Ln (MBAAP)3I3 (where Ln=La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy or Ho) have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of their chemical analyses, conductance, molecular weight, magnetic measurements, visible and IR spectral data. The ligand and its chelates were screened for antibacterial activity. Thermal stabilities of these chelates were also studied through DTA.
