Since 1984, the Water Quality Branch-Atlantic Region (WQB-AR) of Environment Canada has a quality assurance / quality contral (QA/QC) program. The present communication is an evaluation of the selected data collected in triplicate by WQB-AR in recent years to establish the reliability and validity of the overall sampling program. The data obtained from triplicate sampling have been analyzed and interpreted to derive appropriate conclusions and offer recommendations as regards continuance of this approach.
