Four globulins and seven albumins were identified and isolated from crude water extract of Jatropa curacus. (J. C.) Four albumin factors were tested for LD 50, Prothrombin, bleeding, and coagulation time. Curcin, protein factor III was toxic with LD 50-150 μg/100 G. body wt.im. It also increased prothrombin, bleeding and coagulation time. Three alkaloids were obtained from the alcoholic extract of J. C. seeds. Alkaloids caused swelling and degranulation of WBCS and; adhesion, haemolysis of RBCs.
