Cation exchange isotherm for Ca (II), Sr (II) and Ba (II) / Na (I)-form of m-cresolformaIdehyde cation exchange resin over the temperature range 25°-45°C in aqueous media has been investigated. Thermodynamic equilibrium constant Kth is greater than unity over the entire temperature range for all of various degree of crosslinking employed, and increases with increasing of temperature. The thermodynamic functions Δ G°, Δ H° and Δ S° have been calculated for this exchange at each crosslinking of the exchanger. The free energy Δ G° of the exchange was found to decrease with increasing of the crosslinking of the exchanger, indicating that the equilibrium constants (Kth) increases with increasing of crosslinking of the exchange resin. The plots of 1 n k vs I/T is represented by a straight line.
