l-(p-nitrobenzyl)-4-methyl pyridinium bromide has been reported to have antibacterial aod anticancerous properties. Its detailed polarographic studies at different pH has already been done by us and published. Further, to check effect of different solvents like n-propanot and dimethyiformamide at various pH on polarographic characteristics, E1/2 and id, the studies have been further extended. Since there were no well defined waves in the alkaline region these studies were confined to pH's 3,0 and pH 7.0 (one acidic and other neutral pH> In both the acidic and neutral pH, non-aqueous solvents do effect polarographic characteristics significantly.
