3,4,5-trimethoxy-4' - methyl dibenzoylmethane forms 1:2 greenish yellow complex with Ni (II) at pH 8.6 to 9.0 with working wavelength 410nm. Values of λ -maxima, molar absorptivity. Sandell's sensitivity stability constant (log K) and free energy of formation were found tobe 405 nm, 2600cm-1mol-1 0.922ug cm-1 , 7.521 and -10.25k.cals per mole respectively. Beer's law is valid in the concentration range 5x 10-5M to 3.0x10-4M.
