Rutheniumiii-Catalyzed Condensation of Indoles with Indole-3-Carbaldehyde, A Novel Synthesis of Tris(Indolyl)Methanes

Synthesis of tris(indolyl)methanes through condensation of various indoles with indole-3-carbaldehyde using RuIII as catalyst is reported. It was found that the catalytic system involving RuIII affords the products in good to high yields.
