Synthesis of New A-Arylidine-3-Aryloxymethyl-5-Substituted -S-Triazolo-[3, 4-B][1, 3, 4]-Thiadiazoles and Evaluation of Their Biological Activity

Certain new 3,5-disubstituted-s-triazolo-[3,4-b] [1,3,4]-thiadiazoles (4a1-a16) and 3,5-disubstituted-6-thio-s-triazolo-[3,4-b] [1,3,4]-thiadiazoles (4b1-b16) were prepared in excellent yield from their respective mercapto triazoles (3a1-a16 ) and (3b1-b16) . The triazolo thiadiazoles containing active methylene groups (4a1-a16) and (4b1-b16) on condensation with anisaldehyde resulted the required title compounds (5a1-a16) and (5b1-b16). The structures of newly synthesized compounds have been established on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral data. Few compounds showed significant antibacterial, antifungal and other biological activities.
