Synthesis of new benzimidazole derivatives, derived from the condensation of o-phenylenediamine & aromatic acids have been reported some of these compound have been subjected to mannich-type condensation to yield 2,3 - disubstituted benzimidazole and after methylation yield methylated derivative of 2,3- disubstituted benzimidazole. The synthesized compounds were screened for antimicrobial and antifungal activities.
