1-phenyl dodecane sulfonate, 1-phenyltetradecane sulfonate, 1-phenylhexadecane sulfonate, 3-phenyl-tetradecane sulfonate and 5-phenyltetradecane sulfonate were prepared and evaluated on a laboratory scale for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) formation systems. The effect of added alcohols on the interfacial tension of these system, also dynamic interfacial tension (g) of these anionic surfactants against n-alkanes were investigated to obtain the ultralow interfacial tension of these systems, also dynamic interfacial tension was discussed. This work may be helpful for designing practical formulations used for surfactant flooding systems.
