Some Cu(II) complexes of N, N, Nā,Nā,Nāā-pentakis (4-Methyly benzimidazol-2-yl-methyl) diethylene triamine having molecular formula C19H53N13.4H2O were synthesized and isolated. Their structures have been established on the basis of chemical analysis molar conductance, magnetic measurement 1H NMR, EPR and electronic spectral studies, ligand have elight coordinating sites viz five pendant henzimidazolyl arms (five azomethine nitrogen atom) and three tertiary amine nitrogen via methylene bridge. Cu(II) complexes are binucleating, EPR-studies provide support for a weak magnetic exchange intraction between the two copper (II) ions via the ligand bridge. Both CuA and CuB- have different stereochemistry as revealed by physical studies.
