First inner-transition metals, lanthanide (III) complexes with 2-propyl pyridine - 4 - carbothioamide (PPCT) have been synthesised. The general formula of the complex is [LnL3Cl2(H2O)2]Cl, Where, Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb & Dy(III). These complexes of Ln(III) are characterised by elemental analysis, UV- Visible, IR, NMR Spectra, Conductivity data, magnetic susceptibility, thermal studies, x-ray diffraction studies. Inhibitory study of complexes & study of antibacterial & antifungal activity is also undertaken. Ligand, L=2-propyl pyridine -4-carbothioamide (PPCT) acts as bidentate ligand & coordinated through two nitrogen atoms. Coordination s of complexes are 10.
