The Schiff bases, Bis (p-methoxy benzaldehyde) semicarbazone (MBSCZ), Bis (N, N’ dimethyl, 4 amino- cinnamaldehyde), semicarbazone (DACSCZ), Bis (N, N’ dimethyl 4-amino benzaldehyde), semicarbazone (DABSCZ), Bis (Pyridine 2-aldehyde) semicarbazone (PASCZ) and Bis (4 chlorobenzaldehyde), semicarbazone (CBSCZ) were synthesized and characterized by M.P. and I.R. spectra. Their complexes with Ni(II), Co(II) and Oxovanadium (IV) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, electrical conductance, magnetic susceptibility, I.R. and electronic spectra. Semicarbazones and their Nickel(II), Cobalt(II) and Oxovanadium (IV) complexes have also been screened for antifungal activities.
KEYWORDS:Semicarbazone; Schiff base; Ni(II); Co(II); Oxovanadium (IV)/ antifungal activity
