Synthesis and Characterization of Polyamide (1,6-Gliconic Acid) With Some Metal Ion Complexes

ABSTRACT:

Polyamide prepared by the reaction of ethylene diamine with different ratio between 1,6-gliconic acid and phthalic anhydride. The prepared polyamides have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and 1H- NMR spectrum is also recorded. Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) chlorides with polyamide based on 1,6-gliconic acid and phthalic anhydride have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, IR and electronic absorption as well as thermogravimetric analysis. The values of energy of activation of degradation of the compounds were determined from TG and DTA curves.
