Stability constant of binary and ternary complexes of Cu(ll), Ni(ll), Co(ll), Zn(ll), Mg(ll) and Ca(ll) metal ions with guanosine as a primary ligand and thymidine, uridine and adenosine as secondary ligands was studied by a potentiometric technique at 25°C and 0.1 M (KNO3) ionic strength. The stability constants of the 1:2 metal guanosine complexes are found to be higher than those of the corresponding 1:1 binary systems. The D log values are positive for all the binary systems studied and this is attributed to the stacking interactions of ligands.
