5-(p-chloro) sulphonate-2-methylbenzamides (II) and benzoic acid esters (IV) were prepared. Interaction of 5-(p-chloro) sulphonate-2-methylbenzoyl azide (V) with amines and phenols gave the corresponding urea and urethan derivatives (VI) & (VII). The structure of the prepared compounds was established by elemental analysis, i. r. and n. m. r. spectra.
KEYWORDS:Urethan; Derivatives; (VI) & (VII).
