The laser Raman spectrum of Acetophenone from 50-4000 cm-1 has been recorded. The fundamental f-equencies are assigned and normal coordinate analysis has been carried out for this molecule with the aid of point mass model, using the kinetic constants method for the first time. Further using the values of the present potential constants, other molecular constants, viz., compliance constants, vibrational mean amplitudes, Coriolis coupling constants and centrifugal distortion constants have also been evaluated, for this molecule.
