Condensation of various sulphonyl chloride acetanilides with hydrazine hydrate to give the corresponding hydrazides was carried out. Direct condensation between sulphonyl hydrazides and carbonyl compounds (different aldehydes and ketones) to obtain their hydrazones was also attempted. For possible antimicrobial activity; the antibacterial and antifungal activities of the prepared compounds were tested.
