A glycosidal fraction was extracted and isolated from the alcoholic extract of a commonly occuring shrub Acacia farnesiana. The different concentrations of this fraction were studied on muscles, like cardiac, skeletal, and smooth muscles of the animals. It was also studied for emetic action in pigeons. The yield of the glycosidal fraction was 0.26%. It showed direct positive chronotropic and positive ionotropic cardiac actions with no action on other muscles. No emesis was produced in pigeons.
