Eight new nine-coordinated solid complexes of the composition [Ln(L)(NO3)3] {Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy or Ho; L = 4[N-(3'-nitrobenzalidene) amino] antipyrine thiosemicarbazones (3'-NO2BAAPTS)} have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, molecular weight, magnetic susceptibility, infrared and electronic spectral studies. Thermal properties of the compounds were also studied. Possible structures of these complexes have been proposed.
