The present paper contains the electronic absorption spectra of 6-amino-1-methyl and 6-amino-1, 3-di methyl uracils. The effect of solvents viz. ethanol, methanol and water is also been studied and discussed on the electronic transitions of the said molecules. The spectra have been recorded in the region 1900-4000
