Thermodynamic and spectral studies on the lanthanon chelates of o-(N-o-hydroxy acetophenoneimino) phenol [H2AP] and o-(N-pyrrole-2-carboxalimino) phenol [H2PP] have been carried out. Irving-Rossotti method has been followed to determine the dissociation constants of the ligands and formation constants of their lanthanon chelates in aqueous medium (μ=0.01, 0.05 and 0.1M NaClO4) at 25°, 35° and 45°C. Molecular mass, elemental analysis, conductance, magnetic, thermal and spectral analysis of the solid chelates suggest their octahedral stereochemistry. Various spectroscopic parameters, viz. b d % and b
