Alkaloids of Argemone Mexican A

Chromatographic resolution of the crude base fraction of the whole plant of A. mexicana resulted in the isolation of three known alkaloids, (±)-cheilanthifolinef protopine and nor-sanguinarine Structures of these compounds have been established by spectral analysis and also by direct comparison with authentic samples.
