Abstract:
The formation of Chromium (III) bis (2-aminoethyl) - amin-N, N, N', N", N"-pentaacetate from tris (ethylene diamine) Chromium (III), [Cr(en)3]3+, and bis (2-aminoethyl)- amin-N. N, N', N'', N" pentaacetate has been studied spectrophotometrically. An increase in pH decreases the observed rate contant values (Kobs) but the rate of substitution is found to increase with [DTPA]. The proposed rate law is Rate=[(k1+k2Ty)/(OH~ )] Tc1Activation parameters have been evaluated and a suitable mechanism has been proposed.
