Abstract:
The molecular features pertaining to dye-solvent interaction of triphenodioxazine (TPDO) in benzene plus methanol (W=1:3.1:1, 3:1) have been investigated by ultrasonic velocity and density measurements at 35 ± .01. The trend change point (TCP) depends upon the composition of the solvent mixtures and are found to vary with the halo group attached to the dyes chosen for the present investigation. Acoustic parameters such as adiabatic compressibility, intermolecular free length show deviation at different concentrations indicating effective dye-binary solvent interaction. The specific acoustic impedence and ultrasonic velocity increases, while adiabatic compressibility and intermolecular free length decreases vtfth dye concentration with respect to halo group present in the dyes. The values of acoustic parameters follow the order: - TPDO I > TPDO II.
