Tecomella undulate is one of the codominant species in the desert of western Rajasthan and adjoining plains of Haryana. Chemical investigations of leaves of T. undulate led to the isolation of triaceontanol, betulinic acid, oleanolic acid and ursolic acid. Triacontanol is an effective plant growth regulator while both, betulinic acid and ursolic acid are potent anti-human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The leaves of T. undulate could be a rich source of ursolic acid for further clinical studies.
