The reaction of tetrachloroethene with four molar equivalents of the respective potassium salt of xanthate, dithiocarbamate or dithiophosphate (R), yields new type of tetra-substituted thioethenes (R2C=CR2) as multidentate ligands. These ligands react with the salts NiCI2, NaPdCI4 and K2PtCI4 in 1:2 or 1:4, ligand to metal molar ratio, resulting In the formation of homo or hetero bi-or tetr-metallic complexes.
