From alcoholic extract of whole plant Cyathula tomentosa a new 2,8-dihydroxy-1,6-dimethoxyxanthone has been isolated and characterized with help of FAB-mass, ¹H, ¹³C NMR and 2D studies & antimicrobial activities of its extract.
