Chalcone condenses with substituted aniline to give chalcone imine. This chalcone imine when refluxed in DMSO-I2-H2SO4 system affords flavone imine. Substituted flavone imines were synthesized and tested for its antimicrobial activity against pathogenic bacteria and fungi. Sensitivity carried out by disc diffusion method displayed good level of antibacterial activity.
