Abstract:
The aqueous interactions between Ti(IV), Dy(III) and citric (H4Cit), d-tartaric (d-H4Tart) and racemic tartaric acids (dl-H4Tart) acids were investigated by potentiometric titration and nuclear magnetic relaxation methods. The analysis of experimental data was performed using mathematical models to evaluate the possibility of existence of a wide species’ set in the solution and to identify those of which account is sufficient to reproduce the observed pattern. The species of different nuclearity were found, the relaxation efficiency (R1) and equilibrium constants (Kpmqr) of heteronuclear complexes were calculated. It is shown that the complexation processes are strongly pH-dependent.
