Abstract:
The changes in physico-chemical parameters are directly or indirectly Indices of quality of water. The proper analysis and correlation of these factors enable to characterise the degree of water pollution. Physico-chemical parameters of hand pumps water of Bhopal have been studied seasonally (winter, summer and monsoon) for one year (1993-94). Two readings have been taken in one season. Total alkalinity, total hardness (T-H), Ca-H and Mg-H ranged from 4.0-482.0,70.4-379,39.2-389 in winter, summer and monsoon; T-M ranged from 137-649,181-437 and 123-440 ppm and Ca-H from 103-553,123-364 and 72-375 ppm in winter, summer and monsoon amd Mg-H ranged from 34-695,33.5-90.0 and 51-137.8 ppm in winter, summer and monsoon respectively.
