Substituted 6-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrodibenzo [b,g] [1,8] naphthyridine 4 have been synthesized by the condensation of 2-amino-3-formyl-4-phenylquinoline 3 with cyclohexane in presence of acetic acid and sulphuric acid. The precursors have been obtained by the amination of 2-chloro-3-formyl-4-phenylquinoline 2 which inturn were obtained by the oxidation through prevost reaction of 2-chloro-4-phenylquinoline 2 which inturn were obtained by the oxidation through prevost reaction of 2-chloro-4-phenyl-3-vinylquinoline 1.
