Template Syntheses of Tetraazamacrocyclic Complxes of Cadmium (II)

ABSTRACT:

Cd (II) complexes of the type [CdLNO3] NO3 and [CdLCl2] (L = tetraazamacrocycle having 12 to 32 - membered ring) have been prepared by the 2:2 cyclocondensation of 2,3 - pentanedione with I,n -diaminoalkanes viz. 1,2-diaminoethane, 1,3-diaminopropane, 1,4-diaminobutane, 1,6-diaminohexane, 1,8 diaminoocatane or 1,12-diaminododecane. These have been characterized by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements and IR and 1 H NMR spectral studies.
