Synthesis and Antibacterial Activity of 2-Amino-4-(5'-Chloro-2'- Hydroxy-4'Methylphen-a'yl)-6-Arylpyrimidine Derivatives

5'-chloro-2'-hydroxy-4'-mrthylchalcones1 reacts with an alcoholic solution of guanidine nitrate containing aqueous sodium hydroxide solution to give the corresponding 2-Amino-4-(5'-Chloro-2'- Hydroxy-4'Methylphen-a'yl)-6-Arylpyrimidine2 .The structure of products has been studied by elemental analysis and spectral methods. The antibacterial activities of these compounds have been also investigated.
