Synthesis and Antibacterial Aciwtty of 3-Phen Ylp6-Nitr O-7-M Eth0xy-4-Subtitiited

Some new 4-styryicoumarin derivatives have been prepared by 2-phneylacetyfoxy-4-methoxy-5-nitrochalcone with potassium hydroside in presence of pyridine. The structure of the product has been characterised by elemental analysis, IR and PMR studies. The products have been screened for antivbacterial activity against S. aureus and E. coli.
