A systematic chemical investigation of this plant yielded Apigenin, Apigenin-7-0-glucoside Echinacin and Echinaticin in addition to other triterpenes. In view of the reported medicinal importance the antifungal activity was carried out for flavonoidal constituents in the present study. The effect of these compounds tested at various concentrations on spore germination of A. tenuissima and was found that echinacin and echinaticin are more promising chemicals against already known conventional fungicides.
