8-Amino-caffine (4), theophylline (5) and 3-methyIxanthine (6) react with aldehydes to give the corresponding 8 arylidincamino derivatives (7-23) in high yields. The structure of products has been studied by elemental analysts and spectral methods. The antimicrobial activities of these Schiff's bases have been also investigated.
