Seeds of Arachis hypogea L. were treated with different concentrations of sugar factory effluent. Germination of Arachis hypogea L. seeds were studied, chlorophyll contents were estimated. In 25%. 50% and 100% effluent the germination percentage and chlorophyll contents were decreased. On decreasing concentrations of the effluent to 1%, 2% and 5% there was no considerable effect on germination and chlorophyll content, suggesting the diluted effluent is less toxic to Arachis hypogeae L. seeds.
