N-m and p-methyl benzene oxamic acids are found good analytical reagents for estimation of scandium (III) in presence of number of metal ions. The condition have been established for the determination of scandium (III) in presence of numbers of metal ions. The metal complexes have been prepared and characterised by elemental analysis, infra-red, potentiometric and thermal studies. The complexes are stable upto 250°C and Iigand behave as a monobasic bi-dentate-O-O donor.
