Based on pH measurements, protonation constant of 2,2'-Bipyridine and 1,10- Phenathroline have been evaluated in aqueous and aqua-organic media at different temperatures and ionic strengths employing Albert-Serjeant and Irving-Rossotti methods. The effect* of solvents on the protonation constant are discussed and explained in the light of change of H-bonding change of dielectric constant of water and proton solvation of the organic solvent. Thermodynamic parameters have also been determined.
