A normal coordinate analysis of methyl acetylene (CH3CCH) belonging to XY3ZVW system is attempted using the kinematic methods suggested by Herranz and Torkington. This molecule has 5a1+5e vibrations. Force constants, mean amplitudes of vibration and Coriolis coupling constants are computed and compared with the reported values. The Coriolis sum rule is verified.
