Photogalvanic cell containing methylene blue as per photosensitizer, Ethylenediaminetetra acetic acid as a reductant and cetyl pyridinium chloride as surfactant have been investigated for solar energy conversion. The photopotential and photocurrent generated by this cell were 877.0 mV and 140.0 μA respectively. Effect of various parameters on the electrical output of the cell was studied and current voltage characteristics of the cell has also been observed.
