A red species is formed when Ag (I) reacts with 2,3-dihydroxypyridine at pH 7.0-9.0. The species has λ max 520 nm and obeys Beer's law upto 8.5 μg ml. The composition (metal:ligand) is 1:1 . Some foreign ions interfere in the spectrophotometric determination of Ag (I).
KEYWORDS:Spectrophotometric; 3-Dihydroxypyridine
