Synthesis and Antibacterial Activity of 1,4-Disubstituted 2-Azetidinone

Synthesis of 1,4-disubstituted β-lactam has been accomplished by a Ketene-imine cycloaddition reaction. The effect of -OCH3 and -NO2 groups on the yield have been studied. Also the antibacterial activity of these compounds has been investigated.
