The electronic absorption spectra of 5, 5-Dimethyl cyclohexane 2 <2-hydroxy Phenyl) Hydra-zono 1.3 Dione [DCPHD] (I), 5, 5-DimethyIcyclohexane-2-(2-hydroxy-4-methyl Phenyl) Hydrazono Dione {DC -4-Me-PHD] (II) and 5, 5~DimethylcyeIohexane-2-(2 -hydroxy -4-chlorophenyl) 1,3 Dione (DC-4- C1-FHD1 (HI) are investigated. These spectra exhibit three trmuc bands A, Band C The assignment of the observed hands to certain transitions is attempted. The composition of the complexes of Cu2+ with ligands (I), (II) and (II) was determined by molar ratio and continuous variation methods. The stability constant* of complexes of Cu2+ ion with these dyes were calculated and found to be in the order: DC-4-CI-PHD < DCPHD < DC 4-Me-PHD.
