Exposure to X-rays (14 kr-15 kr) for 5-10 seconds to the whole body of pupae of Philosamia ricini causes a marked decrease in phosphorylase activity both in male and female moths compared to control. Whereas it-exhibits'a higher aldolase activity on day 1 and then fall in further periods. The contents of soluble carbohydrates of the male moths were found to be less the control moths. However irradiation caused no change in its level in the female moths.
