The various urethane derivatives of chalkones were prepared by condensing 2—hydroxy. 5 methyl-6 methyl, 2— benzoyl, 3—aryl, acryoophenones with phenyl isocyanate in THF in the presence of triethylarnine. These compounds were tested for their antimicrobial activity with concentration 200 μg/ml against Salmonella typhi, E. Coli and staphyl ocacii aureus bacteria. The most of them have shown promising antibactarial activity.
