Magneto, Spectral and Thermal Investigations of 5,6-Benzoquinoline Complexes of Oxovanadium (IV)

The synthesis and physical properties of crystalline VO++ complexes of 5,6-benzoqunoline (Benzqn) with general composition VOX2.2Benzqn (X=CI, Br, I, NO3, NCS or 0.5C2O4) and VO(CIO4)2. 4Benzqn are reported, together with molecular conductivity, molecular weights, magnetic susceptibility, IR and electronic spectra. In all the complexes, the ligand is coordinated to vanadium (IV) through its lone hetero N-atom. Thermal properties of the complexes have also been studied.
