1,3-Dibromo 5Ethyl-5Methylhydantoin as A Quantitative Oxidant in Titrimetric Determinations of Hydrazine, Thiourea, Hydroqui-None, Ascorbic Acid, Antimony (III) and Titanium (III)

The compound 1,3dibromo-5-ethyl-5-methylhydantoin, synthesized by brominating 5-ethyl-5-methylhydantoin in chlorofrm, finds application as a quantitative oxidant in titrimetric determinations of hydrazine, thiourea, hydroquinone, ascorbic acid, antimony (III) and titanium (III) within ±0.2% error.
