Glimeperide, 3-ethyl-4-methyl-N (4[N(1r, 4r)-4-methyl cyclohexyl carbamoyl) sulfamoyl] phnethyl)-2-Oxo-2, 5-dihydro-1-H-pyrrole-1-Carboxamide the recently used hypoglycemic agent is active in NIDDM. Metal complexes of glimeperide have been synthesized by reaction with different metals such as Copper, Magnesium, Nickel and Cadmium in the form of their chloride salts. These complexes were characterised by their physical and analytical data, IR, 1H NMR and atomic absorption studies.
KEYWORDS:Antidiabetics; Glimeperide; transition metals; 1H NMR; IR; AA-studies
